dc.description	The taxonomic position of a new family of flowering plants recently described, Pycnanthaceae Ravenna, is here discussed; as a result of comparison of type material, this new taxon is placed in the synonymy of the genus Malaxis within the Orchidaceae. A list of species of Malaxis growing in Argentina is provided, as well as a key to differentiate them.
